ADRIAN Foster would love to see his former club Hereford United can get back on their feet but the Frome Town manager is hoping their revival doesn’t start this weekend.

The Robins boss spent the 1996-1997 season with the Bulls during his playing days and is preparing his team to lock horns with Hereford, whose current winding up order has been postponed until December 1, this Saturday at Badgers Hill.

“I only spent a season at Hereford and we were playing in the second division at the time. But we got relegated on the last day of the season and it wasn’t a good day,” said Foster.

“I still enjoyed my time there and hopefully there are still some people at the club that I recognise.

“I hope that they manage to sort themselves out but hopefully things don’t start getting better for them on Saturday – I’ll be thinking about Frome Town and three points.”

Foster is hopeful that he’ll be able to keep hold of top-scorer Ben Thomson, who has found the net nine times for Frome so far this season, after he was the subject of a seven-day approach from Dorchester Town.

“I’ve spoken to Ben a few times over the last few weeks and it seems like he’ll be staying. He’s just concentrating on getting fit and getting back banging goals in, I should think,” said the Robins chief.

Lewis Haldane’s first Frome goal wasn’t enough to prevent Foster’s men suffering a 3-1 loss at Cirencester Town last weekend.

Josh Parsons scored twice for the hosts, with his second coming from the penalty spot, whilst Gethin Jones was also on target for Cirencester, who had Aidan Bennett sent off for two bookings.
