WESTBURY United are still searching for a way back to winning ways in the Toolstation League First Division after suffering their sixth defeat in seven games at Keynsham Town last weekend.

Despite a spirited display in the second period, Shaun Gardiner’s men paid the price for conceding twice in the opening 45 minutes in Somerset.

Keynsham winger Jordan Hawkins stole the show early on and was denied by Grant Gunning’s clearing header and a save from keeper Callum Hotine.

The Westbury goal then led a charmed life as Rob Sheriton’s free-kick hit one post and Pat Davison’s effort struck the opposite upright before Tom Morgan was denied by Hotine.

Hawkins then put the hosts ahead with 14 minutes on the clock with a powerful left footed shot that deflected in off Josh Maguire.

Westbury quickly found themselves 2-0 down as Ben Harris fired home and Gardiner’s men were unable to hit back, with Ryan Elliott coming closest with a long-range effort.
