CHRIS Stokes will remain with Coventry City until the end of the season after extending his loan from Forest Green Rovers.

The 23-year old, from Trowbridge, joined the Sky Blues initially on a 28-day loan deal, a day before the 2-2 draw against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.

The former Bolton youngster has started in all seven City matches during his loan spell, completing 90 minutes in six of them, and was part of the defence which kept an impressive clean sheet in the 2-0 win over Fleetwood Town on Tuesday night.

The defender will now stay with the Sky Blues for the remainder of the 2014/15 League One season after impressing manager Tony Mowbray.

The City manager told the official Coventry City website: "Since I've came into the club, I've been impressed with Chris' attitude and application in training, and on a match-day.

"As I said after the Fleetwood game, I like him because he listens to you, looks you in the eye, nods his head and then goes on to the pitch to try to do what you want.

"We're delighted to be able to extend his loan spell until the end of the season and the challenge for him is now to keep hold of his place in the team, and continue his progression."
