WILTSHIRE youngster Lloyd Wallace continued his fine form by claiming bronze at the Junior World Championships in Italy.

The 20 year old, from Semley near Warminster, shrugged off reduced visibility and falling snow to nail two triple twisting double somersaults, scoring a lifetime best of 190.70 for his full double-full and double-full full in what was the last event of the season and Wallace's last as a junior.

The University of Bath student soared to Great Britain’s first-ever Europa Cup Aerials gold medal in Switzerland earlier this month and was named SportsAid UK Athlete of the Month.

He has enjoyed a season of success, claiming Britain’s best World Cup aerials results since 1995 with four top 20 places and 15th at the Senior World Ski Championships in Kreischberg, Austria, in January.

Walace said: “This has been one of my big goals and I am delighted to have made the podium. I would like to thank my Swiss coach Mich Roth who has been working with me for the last three years.”

His 17 year old sister Elodie also performed well, placing 13th in the ladies event.

The duo come from a distinguished skiing family, with both their mother (Jilly Curry-Wallace) and father (Robin) having represented Britain for freestyle at the Olympics.

The self-funded pair hope to represent Team GB at the next Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang in 2018.
