ANDY Davis’ destructive 131 inspired Corsham to a 97-run success when they travelled to Thornbury in the Premier One 2nd XI division.

Number three Davis set the tone for the visitors and his inspired knock saw them post 257-8 from their 45 overs. Colin Blick claimed 3-19 for Thornbury.

Corsham made a dream start when they got their hands on the ball, with Jonathan Parker (3-31) dismissing Richard Hawkins without a run on the board.

The visitors continued to have the upper hand and Thornbury were eventually skittled out for 160.

Millan Perrera (78) and Chris Penhaligon (62) saw Potterne to a 103-run over Potterne in Premier Two 2nd XI.

They formed the backbone of Potterne’s 321 all out, with Dan Wiseman claiming 3-28 for the Goats.

Aaron Kyte then picked up 3-41 as Goatacre could only muster 218-8 in reply.

Will Couzens’ five-wicket haul was not enough for Chippenham in Glos/Wilts Division 2nd XI as they went down by 13 runs at home to Rockhamptom.

Couzens took 5-47 as Rockhampton posted 240-8.

Timothy Dunford (56) and Peter Sykes (52) tried their best to see Chippenham past the target but their efforts came up short on 227-9 as Rob Gill took 3-43 for Rockhampton.

In the Wiltshire Division 2nd XI, Calne beat Trowbridge by 33 runs thanks to the efforts of Jim Sutton (5-44) with the ball.

Batting first, Calne posted 174-8 before Sutton’s heroics saw the Trowbridge reply come up short on 141 all out.

James Dunford hit 87 as Devizes chased down visiting Great Bedwyn’s target of 253-8 to claim a thrilling one-wicket win.

Alistair Tuttle (95) had earlier top-scored for Bedwyn but Devizes were able to sneak home by the narrowest of margins.

Burbage & Easton Royal were five-wicket winners over Malmesbury, while Marshfield went down by four wickets when they travelled to Purton.
