WARMINSTER’S revival in the Premier Two 2nd XI division continued last weekend as they moved to within two points of second-from-bottom Old Bristolians Westbury.

Warminster secured their third win in five matches by dispatching the Bristol outfit by five wickets at Sambourne Road, putting their opponents in to bat first after winning the toss and putting the visitors in a stranglehold.

Bristolians were skittled for 164 in the penultimate over before Shah Farhaz (45*), Mikee Selmes (33) and James Leworthy (33) fired Warminster to 167 in less than 29 overs.

Elsewhere, Corsham suffered a disastrous 262-run defeat at Bridgwater in Premier One.

Jakob Valentine took 4-57 but the hosts’ Todd Barrett (107), John Hill (79*) and Josh Horler (56) were all in fine form as they posted a fearsome 326-8.

Bridgwater then tore through the Corsham order, Matt Habberfield (3-8) the pick of the bowlers as the visitors were skittled for a lowly 64 in little more than 25 overs.

In the Wiltshire Division, there was disappointment for Trowbridge as they lost by six wickets at Burbage & Easton Royal, the visitors being dismissed for 152 before Burbage raced to 153-4.

Westbury were also left to lick their wounds after a nine-wicket thumping at the hands of Purton, with the hosts skittled for 149 before their opponents cruised to 150-1.

In the Glos/Wilts Division, Winsley knocked Biddestone off the top of the table with a seven-wicket triumph.

Robbie Cross (85) starred as Winsley posted 260-9 before the villagers skittled Biddestone for 253, despite Will Unwin’s knock of 119.
