GRAEME Brown’s 4-25 for Bristol saw Corsham slump to a six-wicket defeat on the road in Premier One 2nd XI.

Ian Dixon and Tom Abbott joint top-scored for Corsham as they could only post a lacklustre 95.

The visitors started well when they got their hands on the ball as both Bristol openers were dismissed cheaply. The damage was already done and the hosts were eventually able to ease over the line in the 27th over.

Warminster have climbed off the foot of the Premier Two 2nd XI table after a 60-run win at home to Winterbourne.

Batting first, the home side plundered an impressive 267-8 off their 45 overs and then produced some tight bowling to restrict Winterbourne to 207-5 in reply.

A brilliant Chippenham bowling display set up a seven-wicket win over visiting Chipping Sodbury in Glos/Wilts Division 2nd XI.

Matt Coles led the way with 4-9 as Chipping Sodbury were restricted to just 107.

Steve Silk then made light work of the reply as he smashed an unbeaten 70 to see Chippenham home.

Winsley remain in the bottom two despite picking up 25 points in an away walkover against bottom side Gloucester AIW Sports.

In the Wiltshire Division 2nd XI, Osmond Shallow took a fabulous five-wicket haul as Westbury edged to a one-run win in a thrilling contest at home to Burbage & Easton Royal.

Shallow’s heroics saw Burbage skittled for 119 as they attempted to chase down Westbury’s modest first-innings score of 120.

Terry Strong had earlier claimed 6-32 to keep the home side’s score down.

Elsewhere, Trowbridge suffered a 41-run defeat on their trip to Lechlade.

Paul Godding (86) and Jacob Ward (84) helped the hosts to 282-5 and although Rhys Evans made 98 not out in reply, Trowbridge finished on 241-9.
