FROME Town recovered from their drubbing at the hands of Cambridge City last weekend by sealing a point at Dorchester Town on Tuesday.

Adrian Foster’s men suffered a disappointing 4-0 home defeat against Cambridge as they were downed by goals from Duran Reynolds, Michael Malcolm, Adam Murray and Alex Serrano but they returned from Dorset with a share of the spoils after a goalless draw.

Former Torquay United loanee Jake Hutchings made his second debut for the Robins after signing from Enfield Town but there was no Lewis Haldane or Jake Gardner after the pair both departed the club through work commitments and long-term injury respectively.

Ben Watson threatened twice early on for Dorchester before the hosts’ Bradley Tarbuck hit the post with a scorching effort from 25 yards as the visiting goal remained unbreached.

The Robins’ Kris Miller headed wide before the Magpies fluffed the opportunity to take the lead when a Tarbuck shot was pushed into the path of Lewis Morgan by keeper Darren Chitty but the Dorchester man missed the open goal.

Not long before the break, Frome’s Joe Tumelty drew a save from Alan Walker-Harris whilst Ben Thomson and Matt Minnis also tested the home goalie.

Ten minutes into the second period, a Tarbuck delivery just failed to reach a lunging Watson before the Magpies peppered the Frome goal, with two close-range efforts bravely blocked.

The hosts’ Neil Martin found the net eight minutes from time but the goal was ruled out as the officials deemed Tarbuck had taken the ball out of play.
