A 6-3 WIN for Zeals FC over The Stiffs not only saw them avenge their 5-2 A&B Cup defeat at the hands of Ade Giles men it also saw them claim their first win in 23 league matches.

Zeals, now in Division Two raced to a 3-0 half-time lead and were 4-0 up prior to the Stiffs getting on the scoreboard thanks to a Jason Carter hat-trick and a Adam Rodriguez goal.

A Joao Rodrigues double made up their half dozen with the Stiffs goals coming from Lee Ridout with two and Dave Carroll.

A 7-0 victory for Trowbridge Town Reserves at home to Aces Reserves saw Ralph McCaldon’s side claim their first win of the new campaign.

Oli Fox got the first Town goal on 10 minutes but they had to made until the half hour mark before making it 2-0, Simon Parfitt scoring the first of his four goal haul.

Parfitt made in 3-0 early in the second half and Dean Mathieson’s goal in the 55th minute took it to 4-0.

Parfitt completed his hat-trick on 70 minutes, Gavin Francis netted on 80 minutes before Parfitt capped an excellent personal display with his fourth and the Town’s seventh of the afternoon, four minutes from time.

Melksham Town A overcame a potential banana skin, with what turned out to be a comfortable 7-1 win over a hard working United FC.

A very youthful Melksham side kept possession very well in the opening exchanges but it was United FC who took the lead against the run of play, Josef Zapotnozny finishing brilliantly from distance, curling the ball home.

Melksham continued to play the better possession football but they had to wait 15 minutes before finding an equaliser.

Sean Fordham driving the ball powerfully into the net. Melksham's second, came rather bizarrely. United FC's keeper came rushing out of his box to clear the ball.

But his clearance smashed into Bartlomiej Fedyk face and flew into the empty net for a somewhat unfortunate but amusing goal.

Melksham upped a gear in the second half and began to take control of the game. Sean Fordham got a further two to complete his hat-trick.

Danny Harrison got himself a brace-one a header at the back post. And James Dark completed the seven with a header following a parry from his original shot.
