DAVE George admitted a draw was probably a fair result, despite Bradford on Avon being denied a late Southern Counties South victory on the south coast on Saturday.

The visitors looked to have snatched the four points when wing Tom Bartlett crossed the line in the final moments, only for the effort to be chalked off by a touch judge's flag.

Bradford had to instead settled for a Josh Felix penalty to tie the scores as they travelled home with two points The Wiltshire men had earlier jumped out to a 7-0 lead when Harry Linge touched down after a pushover effort from the pack and Felix converted, Wimborne scoring two unconverted tries to take the lead.

George said: "The defences of both sides were pretty awesome and a lot of effort went in there.

"Although 10-10 may not look like an exciting match but that wasn't the case.

"Normally, we've gone down there and been absolutely smashed so performance-wise it was really good from us, especially as we were missing a few players from our back line.

"The likes of Tom Culshaw and Tom Bartlett came in and did really well.

"We should have a full-strength squad to pick from for the game against Midsomer Norton (on Saturday) but selection is going to be really tough because these lads came in and performed.''
