MARK Collier has no plans to rein his side in when Chippenham Town restart their promotion push on Saturday.

The Bluebirds play their first game in a fortnight after last weekend’s trip to Merthyr Town was called off because of a waterlogged 3G pitch - although only after Chippenham had arrived at the ground in Wales.

Second-placed Town will now be looking to take their pent up frustrations out on Kettering at Hardenhuish Park as they bid to stay hot on the heels of leaders Poole Town.

“We will have to play well to beat them but we are on great form at the moment and we’re full of confidence,” said Collier.

“We are scoring goals and consistently looking a threat going forwards.

“I’m the one who has to keep people’s feet on the ground but we’re playing very well at the moment and the players are enjoying themselves, so they should go out there and express themselves.”

Town edged to a 2-1 away win when the two sides last met in October and Collier expects another tight affair.

“They are a different side to what we have faced before. They have recruited a few players since we played them and one or two from Corby too,” said Collier “Those players know all about winning games in this division, with Corby being champions last season, and I think Kettering are a side that will be pushing for the play-offs.

“They had a slow start and have got ground to make up but they have got games in hand I think they will be there or thereabouts at the end of the season.”

Full-back Harry Grant is unavailable this week but Collier will otherwise have a full squad to pick from.
