WILTSHIRE were in action 12 times this past week across the age groups, starting with the U10s, who claimed a 33-run success over Gwent on Friday.

The county were asked to bat first and posted 189-6 off 35 overs thanks to a fine unbeaten 86 from Jonny Sadler, who had to retire hurt.

Gwent could only muster 156, with Freddie Higton (2-26) and Finlay Fielder (2-6) the pick of an impressive bowling display.

The U12s faced Berkshire on Sunday and were given a fine start from Benji Tucker as he scored his second successive half-century in his side’s 167-9.

Harry Robbins claimed two wickets in his opening spell before Tom Swayne kept things tight in the final over and saw Wiltshire to a four-run success.

The U15s hosted the Isle of Wight at Potterne in an ECB cup match and romped to a seven-wicket victory.

The visitors were dismissed for 97 in 30 overs before some useful contributions from Jack Stearman, Harry Clarke and Archie Ayling saw them home.

The U14s, despite a fine half-century from Ed Wade, suffered a two-wicket loss to Gloucestershire, while Bryce Furlong (3-25) and Ben Higton (3-34) couldn’t prevent the U13s, who had Roly Glover striking 54, falling to a 64-run loss to Devon.

The girls U13s suffered a one-wicket loss to Worcestershire after being bowled out for 74. Poppy Sladen (2-9) and Luci Reed (3-8) were the pick of the county bowling.

The girls U15s lost their two ECB T20 matches – one by 183 runs and the other by 73 runs.

The U17s suffered a 91-run defeat to Somerset in one T20 game before thrashing Dorset by 110 runs, with Elizabeth Bools blasting an unbeaten 54, while Holy White struck 40 and Grace Dunford picked up 2-7.
