IT WAS another week of runs for the county boys U10s as they defeated Devon by a mammoth 10 wickets at Bishops Cannings on Sunday.

Devon batted first and posted 151 all out, with Wiltshire's Cameron Oliver taking 4-14.

In reply, Jonny Sadler and Nicolas Viljoen made light work of the chase, reaching their target without loss inside 29 overs. Sadler ended on 60 not out and Viljoen on 86 not out.

The boys U12 defeated Oxfordshire by 82 runs on Sunday.

Batting first, Wiltshire set Oxfordshire a target of 194 thanks in the main to Toby Kershaw who scored 66.

A magnificent spell of bowling from Tom Swain won it for Wiltshire as he took 7-11 to bowl out Oxfordshire for 111.

There were two matches for the boys U17s.

The team had their first two-day match of the season away to Dorset, who batted first and were bowled out on day one for 226 thanks to three wickets apiece from Tom Lewis and Akram Ghauri.

In reply, Wiltshire reached 242 all out to record a first innings win, with useful contributions from Rhys Davies (44) and Oliver Jackson (41).

On Sunday, the boys U17s travelled to Cornwall for a third ECB one-day match of the season.

Sadly, a heavy defeat followed as Cornwall scored 304-7 from their 50 overs. Wiltshire fell well short in reply, being dismissed for 165 with only Will Wade (58) offering any real resistance.

The girls U13s took on Cornwall at Steeple Langford on Sunday. Cornwall scored 134-8 with Poppy Sladen and Daniella Tilsley both taking two wickets, Emily Otton top scoring in the 83 all out in reply.

The U17s batted first at Dorset and struggled to 100-9 with Lucy Farrant scoring 26. In reply, Wiltshire took two early wickets through Melissa Story but Dorset reached their target to win by eight wickets.

WILTSHIRE’S ECB Under 19 T20 competition is up and running with the first two matches in the North Group completed.

In the North group, competing are Biddestone Barbarians, Chippenham Challengers, Goatacre Gladiators, Bassett Royals and Swindon Steam.

The top two teams will progress from the North group to the county finals on Sunday August 14.

In the South group, fixtures are scheduled to take place throughout July featuring Corsham Jackals, Potterne Panthers, Hampset Scorpions and South Wilts Warriors.
