WESTBURY skipper Alex Senneck feels there remains all to play for in WEPL Wiltshire after his side asserted their own promotion credentials with a clinical dismantling of Purton on Saturday.

Senneck himself proved a major figure in the home side's 126-run triumph, taking 6-26 in 10 overs to ensure Purton's chase of 255 for victory ended early at 128 in the 44th over.

The victory moved Westbury level on points with Purton - to whom they had lost heavily earlier in the campaign - while the top three of Trowbridge, who they face on Saturday, Marshfield and Marlborough remain within their reach.

Senneck said: "We're nicely poised there behind the top two and we've got ourselves nestled in there.

"It's all to play for among six teams really. If one team - hopefully that's us - can get on a winning run or winning six or seven of the last eight, it's all there for us.

"We've got Trowbridge on Saturday and that will be a good battle. We feel we're improving each week.''

The groundwork for victory had been set during Westbury's innings. After winning the toss and batting, opening pair Richard Mills and Jared McDonald put on 175 for the first wicket.

McDonald went on to score 105 from 149 balls while Mills contributed 89.

Daniel Gibbs piled on the agony with 37 not out in 33 balls, Tom Bowler’s two wickets providing a limited bowling highlight for the away side as Westbury racked up 254-4.

The reply was soon in trouble as Senneck swept through the top and middle order, leaving the visitors floundering at 84-7 at one point, Adam Woolford hitting 31 late on for Purton.

Trowbridge continued at the head of affairs as they secured a 79-run victory over Great Bedwyn.

An unbroken fourth-wicket stand of 165 between Sam Julyan (101 not out) and skipper Mike Reynolds (94 not out) set up Trowbridge for 258-3, Ryan Pietersen adding 40.

Chris Blundy, with an unbeaten 39, top scored for Bedwyn, Scott Mitchell taking 3-25 for Trowbridge to wrap it up.
