MELKSHAM Town have been handed a tough start as they bid to regain the Toolstation League Premier Division title, with Darren Perrin's men heading to reigning champions Odd Down for their first league match of the campaign.

Town, who won the title in 2014-15 but finished fifth last season, will head to Bath to face the title holders on Tuesday, August 9, having started their season proper with an FA Cup Extra preliminary round trip to United Services Portsmouth three days earlier.

Melksham will move into their new Woolmore Farm stadium this coming season, with their first home clash slated for October 15 against Buckland Athletic.

Bradford Town's opening Premier Division clash on August 9 is also away from home, with new manager Danny Greaves facing his first league encounter in charge at Gillingham Town in Dorset.

The First Division season started on August 6, where new boys Malmesbury Victoria will travel to Bristol side Roman Glass St George.

The Vics' first home league clash is seven days later as they entertain Welton Rovers at the Flying Monk ground.

There are two first day derbies between Devizes Town and Chippenham Park at Nursteed Road and Warminster Town and Calne Town at Weymouth Street, with Westbury United travelling to Almondsbury UWE.

Corsham Town's league campaign kicks off in midweek on August 9 at local rivals Chippenham Park.
