WILTSHIRE Cricket's annual awards evening took place last Friday with the achievements in representative cricket and our OSCA (Outstanding Services to Cricket) winners celebrated.

Lissie Macleod, from the Southern Vipers team who won the first ever Women's Kia Super League in 2016, was a guest at the event at Ceres Hall, Devizes.

The prestigious Wiltshire Cricketer of the Year prize was awarded to Katherine Mills who, in 2012, aged of 12 years and 164 days, became the youngest player to represent Wiltshire at senior first XI level when she played against Oxfordshire in the Women’s County Championship.

By the age of 16, the all-rounder has already played in 22 men’s WEPL/Wiltshire League matches and, alongside Rosie Pembroke, became one of the first female cricketers to be selected for Wiltshire’s Emerging Player Programme.

In 2016, across a 12-day period at the end of July and beginning of August, she scored 215 runs for the U17s at an average of 71.66 against strong sides representing Gloucestershire, Wales and Worcestershire.
