BRADFORD Town stretched their unbeaten record to a total of 12 games following their 2-2 draw with Buckland Athletic in the Toolstation League Premier Division.

This result didn’t come easily for Danny Greaves’ side as they had to overcome a two-goal deficit in the second half to claim their point.

A 96th minute equaliser kept their run on tack as they prepare for Cribbs away next weekend. Meanwhile Melksham were involved in the FA Vase on Friday night as they swept Swindon New College to one side in a 4-0 win.

In the 36th minute Dan Kovacs got the game going and their lead was then doubled by Luke Ballinger. Gary Higdon made it three in the 73rd before Warren Maidment rounded off the win.

Darren Perrin’s pace-setters return to Premier Division action next week when they travel to Shepton Mallet on Saturday.

In the Toolstation League First Division, Chippenham Park had to settle for a point after blowing a two-goal advantage at home to Chard Town.

Lewis McCarron, Daniel Price and Jordan Coulter all got on the scoresheet as Nick Maggs’ team surrendered the lead on two occasions.

After breezing into the break with a two-goal cushion it looked as if Chippenham would comfortably see out the win, but a late goal for Chard with the game at 3-2 meant the teams shared the points.

Park will hope to go one better next time out when they visit Keynsham Town on Tuesday night.

Elsewhere, Warminster claimed a solid 2-0 league win away to Welton Rovers and are now unbeaten in their last three.

They will aim for more of the same when they travel to Bristol Road to face Portishead Town at the weekend.

Malmesbury Victoria slumped to their second defeat within a week as they lost 4-2 to Wincanton Town at the Flying Monk Ground.

After beginning the match well, Vics took the lead with 10 minutes on the clock when Andy Baker’s long ball over the top picked out Shane Bumphrey, who then chipped the visiting keeper.

However, the hosts let Wincanton back into the game when a poor back pass from Dan Coles left Joe Snell exposed and he ended up conceding a penalty that was duly dispatched to level the scores.

Malmesbury came close to regaining their lead late in the first-half when Jamie Packer hit the post after being played in by Bumphrey.

The visitors took the lead on the hour with a strike from the edge of the area, however, Tim Bond headed Vics level after he rose to connect with Baker’s free-kick.

Wincanton restored their goal advantage before Bumphrey was saw red for stamping after a fracas broke out.

The final goal came with a minute left on the clock.

Meanwhile, Devizes, Corsham, Westbury and Calne endured mixed results in the FA Vase this weekend.

Calne managed a 4-3 home win over Roman Glass St George, Lewis Wentland, Rory Worthington, Tom Boakes and Joe Williamson all notching, and will now turn their attention to hosting Almondesbury UWE on Saturday.

Devizes Town came on top against Corsham Town in their FA Vase second preliminary round with a 2-1 home win. Both sides return to league action with the former facing Oldland Abbotonians away on Wednesday and the latter hosting Bishop Sutton at the end of the week.

Otis Young’s goal wasn’t enough to book Westbury a place in the next round of the competition as they lost 2-1 at home to Cribbs. Up next they face Radstock Town.

In the Sydenhams League Division One, Adi Holcombe’s Pewsey Vale were 2-1 losers at home to Laverstock and Ford, Craig Simmons grabbing their only goal.

Holcombe’s team will now face Andover New Street at Ball Road on Tuesday evening.
