FROME Town threw away a goal lead in the 90th minute as they were held to a draw away at St Ives.

The visitors started brightly and the first chance of the match came when Corby Moore hit a long range effort from outside the area, which was saved by Ollie Sutton.

In the 37th minute Frome got ahead when Connor Roberts prodded the ball home after a corner had cause issues for the St Ives defence. They looked like they would be holding on for all three points, but in the 90th minute the hosts were able to get a goal of their own when Charlie De’Ath got the goal.

St Ives threw everybody forward and right at the death, up popped centre half De’Ath to drive home from close range after a Sinclair free kick had bounced down from the underside of the bar.

It was a game of missed chances for Frome when could have gone two goals into the lead as Darren Jefferies cut in from the left, only to hit the post.

Kyle Phillips kept St Ives at bay before their equaliser when he showed his class to pull off a stunning save, tipping Scott Sinclair’s effort over the bar late on.

Frome host Cinderford Town on Wednesday night in their first home league match for almost a month and it would be good to get the three points to gather some momentum following the stutter that followed their excellent start to the season.
