AFTER losing out in a nine-goal thriller last weekend, Warminster Town A came out on top in a 14-goal encounter away at Aces who had both Rob Garraway and Cory Ponting sent off in the 8-6 defeat.

Liam Gibbens gave Warminster a 16th-minute lead which was doubled on 20 minutes when a Charlie Hull header made it 2-0.

Aces got back on level terms prior to half time with goals from Mike McGuire and Sean Adderley.

In what was an eventful second half, Leon Lloyd’s 47th-minute effort saw Warminster reclaim the lead on for Aces to go straight up the other end and level matter with Steve Tuke making it 3-3.

Luke Hardey’s excellent strike from 18 yards and a Liam Gibbens header on 60 minutes put Warminster 5-3 to the good. Back came Aces with a second Adderley goal narrowing the gap to the odd goal.

The introduction of substitute Drew Eglin in the 70th minute saw Warminster take control of matters. Eglin found the net not long after coming off the bench and within 10 minutes had scored a hat-trick to make it 8-4.

Aces ever gave up as further goals from Adderley, to complete his hat-trick, and Tuke gave them a lifeline.

Melksham Town B, who have enjoyed a relatively good start to life in the league, had to come from 2-0 down to claim a 2-2 draw at home to Trowbridge Wanderers Development.

Harry Riley gave Wanderers a half-time lead and when he doubled their advantage in the second half it looked as if Ross Pugh’s side were on course for a second win of the season.

Melksham struck back and halved the deficit when Owen Pearce scored from the penalty spot and they claimed a share of the points thanks to a Dan Walker equaliser.

Fresh from their victory over Trowbridge Wanderers Development last weekend, Jason Carter took his Zeals side to Christie Miller for the first of back-to-back meetings with Bob Arburry’s Trowbridge Town A side.

It will be Arburry’s side who will be looking to the rematch as a 4-2 victory will give them confidence to claim a quick-fire double over the villagers.

Tyler Dagger was the star of the show for Trowbridge, but his opening goal for the Bees was wiped out when Brad Arberry put through his own goal.

A second from Dagger saw Trowbridge reclaim the lead before half time and he added his third of the afternoon when he made it 3-1 from the penalty spot.

Dean Gumm put the game to bed for Trowbridge and although, Adam Cudlip bagged a second for Zeals it was a case of too little, too late.
