TROWBRIDGE & District League Division Two leaders Three Daggers faced a tricky opening Junior Cup battle at home to Swindon Premier League FC Dorcan.

But after a nail-biting 90 minutes, Sam Tucker’s side claimed a thrilling 3-2 win.

Daggers completely dominated the opening 40 minutes and the opening goal finally came when after great ball in from Phil Hampson, Shaun Sheppard superb turn and finish made it 1-0.

Scott Walford put Daggers 2-0 up shortly after with another great finish.

Right before half time, against the run of play, Dorcan scored two quick goals to tie the scores at two apiece.

The second half was a lot closer with chances falling to both teams before Daggers finally got the winner with Adam Bishop volleying home a stunning strike.

Hilperton United were at home to Swindon's Intel FC, but it was the visitors who made the trip home the happier courtesy of a thrilling 3-2 extra time win.

With both missing chances to win the game in 90 minutes the tie went to extra time where Intel took a 2-0 lead before a Nathan Glass double brought the scores level.

With penalties looking a certainty Intel fired home a last minute winner to claim their win.

The only all Trowbridge-League tie saw Semington Magpies paired with Calne Eagles and it was second division Eagles who booked their spot in the next round thanks to a 4-3 victory over their Division One hosts.

Bobby Mitchell, Dan Barnett and Chris Dore netted for Magpies, Mickey Taraskevics, Adam Welsh twice and a Max Wyatt goals with seven minutes left won it for Calne.

Wiltshire Junior Cup holders Stockton & Codford hosted Cirencester League outfit Sherston Town as they began the defence of the trophy which they lifted in April after a 4-2 extra time victory of Freshford United.

Stockton were dominant from start to finish as they ran out 10-0 winners.

Jason Povey and Nick Sleeman bagged a first-half double with Sam McKntee’s goal giving them a 5-0 lead.

Sleeman won the race with Povey to complete his hat-trick, however Povey finished as top scorer with a couple more to seal a four-timer.

Kieran Edwards in his first game back from a six-match suspension headed in number nine before Ashley Caws made it 10-0.

The Stiffs saw their cup escapade come to an early end when they suffered a 6-1 home loss to Salisbury League side, Sarum Youth.

The visitors were 6-0 up before Chris Giles switched from goalkeeper to striker and provided his team with their consolation.

Luxol St Andrews received a walkover into the next round due to Tisbury United withdrawing from the competition, likewise Alderbury and Deers Leep (Saturday) progressed without kicking a ball as respective opponents Bradford Town Youth and Potterne were unable to raise teams for their first round ties.
