FROME Town had to come from behind to gain a point as they were held to a 1-1 draw to St Neots Town.

The hosts started the faster of the two sides, with Clayton Green shooting over after a period of pressure.

St Neot’s then started to look dangerous as first James Hall brought a save from Kyle Phillips, before Declan Rogers rattled the crossbar with an effort moments later.

Jon Davies then went very close in the 17th as he picked up the ball in the visitors penalty area before breezing past two challenges and hitting a left foot shot which was tipped away.

A big chance arrived after the half hour mark as the visitors took a sharp free kick in the centre circle allowing James Hall in for a run on goal but he was unable to break the deadlock.

With Jon continually causing problems on the right, a string of free kicks and corners led to headed chances for Mapstone and Teale, Teale had headed home a Davies corner, the goal was ruled out as the ball had crossed the dead ball line in flight and the score remained 0-0 at half time.

The breakthrough came in the 53rd minute as the visitors grabbed a goal through Declan after a swift counter attack.

Stung by the goal, Frome went looking for the equaliser, but almost conceded a second when Rogers found Hall with a perfect through ball only for the striker to fluff his lines.

Eventually the pressure led to the equaliser in the 83rd minute as Darren Jefferies did well on the left to work the ball into the area After several blocked shots and good saves, Davies found that moment of quality to hammer the ball home from the edge of the area to give Frome their deserved equaliser.

Frome looked to have won it two minutes later as substitute Jake Jackson finished off a flowing move only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
