CALNE Eagles needed extra time to progress into the Third round of the Wiltshire Junior cup with an extremely hard-fought 4-2 victory over Swindon & District Premier Division side Ramsbury.

The result was achieved despite Calne Eagles having midfielder Karl Sharratt sent off after 65 minutes.

Ramsbury took the lead, but were pegged back via Adam Welch with his 50th goal for the club.

A second from Welch saw Calne take the lead only for Ramsbury to level and take the game to extra time where goals from Mickey Taraskevics and substitute Shaun Jefferies won it for Eagles.

Luxol St Andrews, who received a walkover in the previous round, booked their spot in the third round and again they did it the easy way.

With opponents Swindon Centurians opting to withdraw from the competition the villagers were handed another walkover.

Division Two leaders Three Daggers kept their hopes of Junior Cup success alive with a narrow 2-1 victory at Salisbury League side South Newton & Wishford.

The teams were locked together at one-apiece at half time, Ryan Underwood finding the net with a thunderbolt.

Kane Scott’s powerful second-half header gave Daggers their win.

Junior Cup holders Stockton & Codford, who had a thumping 10-0 win over Sherston Town in the previous round, remain on track for back-to-back cup success thanks to a 6-1 win over Cirencester League Division Two leaders Blunsdon.

Nick Sleeman set Stockton on their way, Nathan Salmonds doubled the lead and it was game over when Sleeman netted his second of the afternoon for 3-0.

A goalkeeping error from Tom Lucas gifted Blunsdon their consolation before Kieron Edwards netted to give Stockton a 4-1 interval lead.

Second-half goals for Joe Dufosee and Ashley Caws sealed a comfortable victory for Jayson Stokes cup holders.

Westbury Town were always on top at home to Swindon league, Premier division side Sportz Central and booked their place in the next round with a 3-0 win.

Zeals gave a good account of themselves at home to Swindon & District Division One outfit Lower Sratton, and for a while threatened to cause an upset before going down 4-2.
