WARMINSTER Town boss Mark Breffit admits his side were unlucky not to come away with all three points in their 2-2 draw with Corsham Town at the weekend.

Eben Mortimer-Taylor and Thomas Welch were among the goals for the visitors, who currently sit in 12th place in the Toolstation League First Division.

“We didn’t start off too well and they (Corsham) had the better of the chances in the first half,” said Breffit.

“We had a lot of chances when we were 2-1 up and we didn’t take them. Then a goalkeeping mistake from a weak free-kick in the 91st minute allowed them to equalise.

“We played really well in the second half but we should have taken our chances to take all three points.”

Breffit will now hope his side can go one better next time when they travel to Bremhill View to take on Calne Town tommorow.

Calne will also go into the game looking for an improved performance following two disappointing defeats to Devizes Town and Portishead Town this week.

“We just need to play like we have been lately and start better than we did on Saturday. If we play like we did in the second half, then we have a chance.” added Breffit.

Dan Jordan and Paul Farrell will both be absent for the clash with Calne, but Warminster will have new signing Mark Robinson available for selection after he made the move from Chippenham Park.

James Goddard’s Westbury United slipped to a defeat despite holding a half-time lead as they were beaten 2-1 by Wincanton Town on Saturday.

Otis Young had given the away side the lead with a 30-yard strike, before Thomas Morris and Matthew Morley put the hosts back in front with 20 minutes left to play.

The game also saw Westbury’s Nathan Hallet-Young handed a straight red card, just two minutes after his arrival as a substitute in the 83rd minute after a foul on Jamie Stewart.
