CHIPPENHAM Town claimed a late point with a late equalizer after the home keeper Xavi Comas fumbled Dan Bowman’s cross into his own net.

It was a tough moment for the young Kings Langley side, who made six changes after being defeated on Saturday by bottom club Cinderford Town.

Chippenham's slick passing game deserted them on a heavily sanded pitch which saw them fail to maintain possession on too many occasions.

Despite that the Bluebirds had the earliest chances with Jake Andrews chipping a shot wide as did skipper for the night Gary Horgan.

Collier’s side had claims for a ninth minute penalty turned down when Andrews appeared to be pushed over in the box.

The hosts then wasted a good chance when former Tottenham Hotspur academy striker Mason Bush shot against Darren Chitty's legs and from the resulting corner Richard Platt fired over.

Just past the half hour mark Kings Langley had three successive chances. Michael King shot against the bar whilst Dan Chitty pulled off two good saves to deny Bush and Kieran Turner.

Chippenham's best chance of the half came in the 36th minute when Smith's freekick saw Will Richards's header turned over the bar by Comas.

Kings Langley opened the scoring 58 minutes in when captain Jorell Johnson headed home from a corner.

Between half time and midway through the second half the Chippenham manager made three substitutions but initially to no avail as the home side chased everything to protect their lead with King shooting wide.

Then out of the blue came the Bluebirds equaliser as the until then reliable Comas tried to punch clear once too often with the ball going into the net with Dave Pratt in close attendance.

There was still time for King to spoon an 88th minute close range shot over the bar, whilst in the final minute substitute Matt Jones shot against a post before the assistant raised his flag.
