TOM Ellis says Bath must be wary of threats all over the park when they take on Harlequins in the Aviva Premiership on Saturday.

Bath are bidding to avenge their narrow 21-20 defeat against Quins in the reverse fixture back in late November, as well as reinforce their top-four credentials.

Having started the current crucial four-game Premiership spell that coincides with the Six Nations with a win at home to Northampton Saints last weekend, youngster Ellis does not want Bath’s momentum to slip now.

“I think we lost by one point up there the last time we played. We didn’t have our greatest of games but I think we still felt like we did enough to get the four points,” said Ellis.

“We will just look to put in another 80-minute performance and hopefully, that will get us the result again.

“They are a very dangerous team, especially around the breakdown. They have got four or five guys who have the ability to get over the ball there and make havoc.

“The back three are dangerous too. Someone like Marland Yarde; you don’t want to give him space to run into with ball in hand.

“If we look after our own ball and are able to disrupt theirs, then we should be able to do OK against them.”

Bath made hard work of their win over Saints last time out as they surrendered a 10-point half-time lead before winning 32-30 with the last kick of the game.

Ellis, who can play at lock or in the back row, was pleased with the resilience shown by Bath after seeing them fail to close out similar winning positions against Exeter Chiefs and Newcastle Falcons in the previous batch of Premiership fixtures in January.

“We made the last 20 minutes more exciting than we would have liked but I felt we were in control of the game most of the way through,” said Ellis.

“Finding a way to win is the most important thing and in the next few weeks, we want to try to right a couple of wrongs from a few of the matches that have gone against us recently.”
