WESTBURY United celebrated their first victory under the new management team of Joe and Neil Kirkpatrick as Malmesbury Victoria’s alarming slide down the Toolstation League First Division table continued on Saturday.

The Vics slumped to a fifth successive loss and second home defeat on the trot as Westbury secured a 3-1 success at the Flying Monk ground.

Westbury’s Jordan Pinder scored on the half-hour but the sides were level at the break and Malmesbury also found the target.

However, George Bendle put the visiting side into the lead midway through the second half.

And the Vics’ misery was compounded five minutes from time as Matthew Jones netted a third for the west Wiltshire men.

Devizes Town are now the top Wiltshire side in the division after they thumped Roman Glass St George 5-1 at Nursteed Road.

The home side's goals came from Jordon Matthews, Rob Mitchell, Ali Bradley and a brace from Tom Slater.

The Chippenham Park renaissance continued as they recorded their fifth win in six games, Ben Pring's winner being enough to see off Welton Rovers at Hardenhuish Park.

Warminster Town were on the end of a 5-1 hiding at Ashton & Backwell United.

Melksham Town's hopes of going second in the Toolstation League Premier Division suffered a hammer blow as they conceded two later goals to fall 2-0 to Shepton Mallet at Oakfields.

With Street losing a leaders Bristol Manor Farm, Darren Perrin's men could have moved up behind them with victory, but instead fell to goals from Conrad Peck and Joe Morgan, before having Luke Ballinger sent off.

The news for Bradford Town was much better, as a fourth successive victory kept them clear in fifth spot.

The home side took the lead on 15 minutes, Martin Lenihan's cross playing in Dan Cottle, who found the net.

After the break, Karim Rendall hit the bar before the lead was doubled on the hour as Cottle slammed home his second.

Rendall's pass to Kane Simpson for the third wrapped up the points for the home side despite Dan Payne's late reply.Royal Wootton Bassett Town boss Rich Hunter blasted his troops as they turned in a tepid performance to go down 3-1 at Binfield in the Hellenic League Premier Division.

Bassett travelled to Hill Farm Lane attempting to end their three-match winless run but that never looked likely as they fell behind inside 10 minutes when Jon Bennett broke the deadlock for Binfield.

The visitors did at least manage to get to the break all-square after Dan Bailey brought them back level midway through the first half.

However, Hunter’s men never looked like threatening a winner after the restart and Liam Ferdinand soon restored the hosts’ lead before substitute Luke Hayden added gloss to the scoreline with Binfield’s third in the closing stages.

“It was our worst performance this season. We lacked any quality and desire all game,” said Hunter, whose side are down in 10th in the table.

“The players didn’t turn up at all and we got punished. Binfield deserved to win the game.

“It’s very disappointing from a manager’s point of view when you hammer home basic principles like hard work and desire to win, and you don’t even see them as a minimum.

“I made it very clear to the squad that they let themselves down but we now have opportunities to rectify this and I will be expecting a huge improvement in training and next Saturday’s game.”
