WESTBURY returned to winning ways in Dorset & Wilts Two North as they ran in six tries in a 40-34 success at struggling Bath Saracens.

The match did not start well for the visitors when, within three minutes of kick off, the hosts outflanked them to touch down in the corner.

It took 10 minutes for fly-half Aaron Vaughan to settle Westbury’s nerves when he scored their opening try after a quick tap penalty, blindside flanker Ryan Knight charging up field and offloading to Vaughan for him to score and convert his own try.

Saracens retook the lead through a penalty when Westbury were penalised for hands in the ruck and added a converted try as Westbury's nerves showed.

The visitors clawed their way back into the game when openside flanker Ferran Adams crashed over the line before another tap penalty from Knight wrong-footed the defence for him to go under the posts.

Vaughan added the conversion for a 19-15 lead at the break.

Centre Dan Telford, in his first start for the Westbury first team, gathered the ball in his own half and outpaced everyone to score under the posts in the second period, giving Vaughan an easy conversion.

Saracens came back and scored a converted try to stay in touch but Reece Ball, returning for Westbury after a lengthy injury spell, danced his way to the try line to score. Vaughan again converting.

Ball got in on the act again when Westbury won a scrum against the head and moved the ball out to him to score again but the visitors lost their shape in defence, handing the home side two tries, one converted, before the finish.
