JUST four days after they defeated Trowbridge Wanderers Development 7-0 to lift the Division Two title, Three Daggers went head-to-head with their rivals in Group B of the Gooding Accounts sponsored Division Two Cup.

For a second time Daggers came out on top, a 6-3 victory meaning they are just a point behind Aces who top the table. But they were made to work for it by Ross Pugh’s team.

Impressive Wanderers found themselves 3-0 up at the interval, thanks to a brace from Myles Woodward and a Dominic Mortimer strike from inside his own half.

It certainly woke up Phil Hampson's side who after the break scored six without conceding, Ryan Underwood, Scot Walford, Mark Young, Owen Hunter and penalties from Liam Griffiths and Ryan Earney sealing the win for Daggers and an almost certain place in the Division Two Cup semi finals at the end of the month.

Already guaranteed a semi-final spot ahead of their Group B meeting with Melksham Town B, Roy Wenham’s Calne Eagles side secured top spot thanks to a triumph over Melksham Town B.

Leading goalscorer Mickey Tarakevics started the ball rolling for Eagles and he was joined on the score sheet before half time by Adam Welch.

Karl Sharratt added a third for Calne in the second half, with Josh Thornton getting what turned out to be a consolation goal for Mark Lewis's side.
