WESTBURY brought the curtain down on their Dorset & Wilts Two North campaign with a 37-12 win over Combe Down 2nd to jump above their rivals and secure seventh spot in the table.

The home side were the first to score 10 minutes in as hooker Michael Tuck won the scrum against the head and number eight Ash Commins broke through tackles to score, Aaron Vaughan converting.

Nick Taylor then touched down after outpacing the visitors' defence and was soon on the scoresheet again after fine interplay between centre Chris Vaughan and full-back Nigel Kershaw.

Down responded with a converted try but another storming run by Kershaw sent fly-half Vaughan in for a try and conversion.

The visitors scored their second try before the break and it took 25 minutes of the second period for another score to arrive, Vaughan adding a penalty, then scoring his second try after ghosting through the Down defence.

Taylor completed his hat-trick after a move involving the entire backline.
