DANNY Talbot believes his Great Britain sprint relay quartet proved they can compete with the best at this summer's World Championships in London despite another handover error at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas last weekend.

Having anchored the 4x100m quartet to a heat victory in 38.32 in Nassau, Trowbridge's Talbot was moved to leg three for the final, with Ojie Edoburun stepping in to replace Adam Gemili with London in mind.

However, while leading in the final, Great Britain missed out when Edoburun left his check mark early with Talbot coming round the bend.

Talbot, who earlier this month rocketed to the top of the UK All-Time lists after obliterating his personal best with a 19.86 mark in America, said “I thought we ran really well in the first round and in the final, until the last changeover.

"It’s important that we learn from things like this and come together even stronger as a team.

"Yeah we made a mistake, but we’ll be there for each other and we’ll get it right at London 2017.”
