WESTBURY United co-boss Neil Kirkpatrick is refusing to get carried away by his side's superb start to the season despite them completing 10 games unbeaten in the Toolstation League First Division.

Tuesday's 5-2 win at Wincanton Town took the Meadow Lane side four points clear at the top of the early standings, although nearest rivals Bristol Telephones do have three games in hand.

Kirkpatrick admits the opening phase of the campaign has been a pleasing one, but is wary of an upcoming fixture list that includes away appointments at Chard this weekend and Devizes in midweek before they and Telephones meet at the end of the month.

"We're not getting carried away because there is a tough schedule coming up and it's early days,'' he said.

"There are a couple of sides with games in hand, but it's great and we want to keep it going as long as we can.''

Ricky Hulbert bagged a brace at Wincanton, while Mark Robinson, Dan Price and Jake Hiscocks also netted for the visitors.

Robinson bagged a brace in Saturday's 3-0 win over Cove in the FA Vase first qualifying round, while Jamie Jordan also notched.

Warminster Town are also inside the First Division's top six after claiming their fourth win of the season at Portishead Town on Wednesday evening.

Town almost made the perfect start when Liam Gibbens was bundled over for a penalty but Lewis Graham's spot-kick came back off a post.

However, they soon made amends as from a resulting corner Graham netted with a towering header.

Portishead equalised straight from the restart and Gibbens missed a chance to restore Town's lead before half-time.

On the hour mark Graham scored his second after skipper Charlie Walton had nodded down an Eben Mortimer-Taylor cross.

Two minutes later the points were sealed as Mark Young's clever through ball found Mortimer-Taylor who finished well.

Town had swept Folland Sports to one side in a 3-1 home win in the FA Vase on Saturday, Walton scoring twice, while Gibbens also registered.

But Corsham Town are out after a 1-0 defeat at Petersfield Town.
