WARMINSTER Town were unable to bounce back from their heavy defeat to Keynsham Town at the end of November as they suffered a second successive loss in a 2-1 reverse away at Malmesbury Victoria last Saturday.

After making the trip to north Wiltshire, Mark Breffit watched his side take a slender lead in the first 45 minutes due to Eben Mortimer-Taylor’s fifth goal of the season.

However, the home side hit back with two goals in the second instalment through Jamie Packer and George Peare.

It was a similar tale for Corsham Town as they too were beaten 2-1 at home by Roman Glass St George, although their fixture was slightly more eventful.

Neither side could find a breakthrough in the first half as it ended 0-0, but moments after the restart, Corsham made the most of home advantage through Robbie Tripp’s header.

The visitors equalised almost immediately with Ryan Radford’s strike, before the game descended into madness.

Both teams were reduced to 10 men following a mass brawl with an hour on the clock, Leigh Rogers was removed for the hosts, while Sam Wentland saw red for the away side.

The visitors then pinched all three points as Jordan Yeo’s late free-kick found a way into the net after taking a deflection.

Westbury United weren’t given the chance to end their three-game winless streak, as their match with Radstock Town was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
