TODD Blackadder insists there are reason to be positive following Bath Rugby’s 19-34 loss against Leicester Tigers at Twickenham on Saturday, which effectively ended any playoff hopes.

Bath led the Tigers 13-10 at half time, but they failed to build on their rugged performance in the opening 40 – eventually crashing to a 15-point loss.

More than 60,000 fans watched Bath’s latest Aviva Premiership contest, and they made a shaky start when Adam Thompstone crossed over after Blackadder’s men were reduced to 13.

Not all was lost though as Tom Dunn touched down for what was to be Bath’s only try of the afternoon before the Tigers quickly pulled clear in the second half.

Sione Kalamafoni touched down twice and was backed up by tries from Sam Harrison and Telusa Veainu as Leicester moved up to fourth in the Premiership table.

Bath meanwhile dropped to eighth and are now 10 points short of fourth placed Wasps.

Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder said: “I felt really proud of our guys. We went in at half time and I thought we were the stronger team so it is a credit to Leicester.

“They denied us position and stopped us getting our hands on the ball. Ill-discipline cost us but I see enough promise.

“I see plenty of reasons to suggest we can get something at Saracens.”
