RUGBY: Bradford on Avon 22 Devizes 2nd 8

BRADFORD on Avon finally wore down a battling Devizes outfit to secure their first win of the campaign.

Neither side was able to dominate in the first half, but Bradford went ahead when fly-half Dom Luaga kicked a penalty.

Devizes responded with a Matty Holloran penalty and good defence by both sides ensured they went in level at half time.

Bradford made a quick-fire start to the second period, taking advantage of an overlap on the right to provide quick ball for the backs, centre Joe Emsley going over for a try well converted by Luaga.

Driven forward by scrum-half Lee Wilkins, Devizes pack started to get success from rolling mauls, but Bradford scored their second try when Holloran’s pass was intercepted by centre Andy Kehoe for a converted score.

Flanker Josh Smith also went over before, with Bradford captain and prop, Oli Stacey sin-binned, back came the visitors, who marched to the try line where Gavin Curnow went over for an unconverted score.
