There were a number of new jumps, including American rails and a
ski jump, at Warminster Saddle Club's hunter trials on Sunday.
It was a more open galloping course to test the fitness of horses and riders
and that, combined with inviting fences and good weather, produced lots of
good rounds.
The rain the day before softened the ground perfectly which meant the going
was good, but not slippery.
Kirsten McFaull, from Lacock, riding Hot Chocolate, went home with a first,
a pairs third and a second.
Tasha Henley, on West End Dancer, and her partner Sarah Hodges, on Boysie,
finished first in the 26 pairs. Tasha was also fourth in the 26 adults
class.
Anyone who missed the event or who wants to go over the fences they found
tricky can do so on Sunday April 27 when the course will be open for clear
rounds.
Clear round show jumping will also be held on Sunday. It has been set out in
the field for the first time this year.
