LAURIE Canter took his European Tour earnings past the €20,000 mark for the season as he finished just outside the top 50 at the Joburg Open in South Africa yesterday.
The Cumberwell Park pro, 26, added rounds of 73 and 72 on the weekend at the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington Golf Club as his promising start to life on the European Tour continued.
Canter, who earned playing rights for the European Tour for the first time at qualifying school in November, has now made the cut in his first four events of the season and although his performance on Saturday and Sunday didn't quite live up to his pair of 69s on the opening two days. he remained satisfied by his early progress.
He tweeted ater Sunday's round: "Played really good golf today. Disappointing way to finish but another weekend under my belt on the European Tour.''
