JO Terry was crowned Wiltshire Ladies county champion after she finished top of the pile at Hamptworth Golf Club last week.

The three-day event featured more than 20 competitors from 14 different Wiltshire clubs.

Terry, of the Salisbury & South Wilts club, won the tournament and Championship Salver ahead of runner-up Alison Grandison, who also won the Sybil Parson Plate for the best gross score in the qualifying rounds for contestants aged over 40.

There were notable performances from junior players, with Sarah Gee (West Wilts) and 14-year-old Seona Mauchline (High Post) bowing out as semi-finalists.

Gee also won the Deacon Cup for the best gross score for contestants 21 and under.

In the second flight, the Gillian Wood Trophy was won by Courtney Boyes, with Katie Dove-Medows finishing as runner-up, Tuppence Hale and Karen Sturges reaching the semi-final stage.

Karen Gosling continued her success from the Spring Meeting by winning the Kennard Cup for the best aggregate score over the two events, with Carol Main (Chippenham) runner-up.

The Hoare Salver for the best 36 gross score in the qualifying rounds was won by Gee from Alex Patton (Manor House), with the roles reversed when Patton won the Barber Dish for the best net score ahead of Gee.

Chippenham, presented by Grandison, Tuppence and Main, won the Team Shield with the best three gross score in the qualifying rounds.

Following the championships, county captain Main announced her team for the South West Inter County Match Week, which will be hosted by Somerset at The Mendip club from July 4-8.
