THE Wiltshire county boys’ golf programme are to hold trials for all young players who wish to be considered for county squads.

Run by Wiltshire County Golf Union, the programme contains eight squads, with the oldest being 17 and the youngest aged just eight.

The squads are split up into elite and performance groups at U18, U16, U14 level, an U12 performance group and then a younger development squad.

Each squad has its own manager and PGA professional coaches, with John Jacobs serving as the head coach.

The elite county trial day will be held at Cumberwell Park in Bradford on Avon on November 6 and will be by invitation only.

The trials for the performance and development squads will be on November 20, also at Cumberwell, and are open to boys aged 17 as of January 1, 2017. However, you must state your intention to take part.

The county junior elite squads’ trial closing date is October 31, with the deadline for performance and development squads on November 13.
