JORDAN Smith remains in contention for a first European Tour victory following the third round of the BMW SA Open today, although fellow Wiltshire golfer Laurie Canter saw his chances fade.
The duo began the day three shots off the lead at Glendower Golf Club in Gauteng, with Smith now four shots off the pace currently set by Graham Storm after the Bowood player’s four-under third round of 68.
That has him on 13 under overall and in a tie for third place, with fellow Englishman Storm out in front on 17 under.
Cumberwell Park player Canter did also post a third straight under-par round himself today but his one-under 71 has him back on 10 under in a tie for 16th place, seven shots off the lead.
