LAURIE Canter looks set to make the cut at the British Masters after carding a second round of two-under-par 68 at the Close House golf course.

The 27-year-old was initially a reserve for the tournament but got the call to say he would be included after Thomas Bjorn pulled out of the event.

Following a steady opening round of 69, leaving him one under-par for the day, Canter was in a good spot for the start of day two.

Starting on the 10th, Canter had an early set back when he hit a bogey five on the 11th hole, but recovered well with a pair of birdie threes on the 14th and 16th.

Another birdie on the par five sixth saw Canter move to two under par, but a bogey five on the seventh soon undid his good work.

The Cumberwell Park man was able to sign off his day with his fourth birdie, picking up a birdie three on the ninth to leave him three-under overall with the cut line currently one-under.
