WEST Wilts took their unbeaten run in the Davis Wood League Championship division to four matches as they won 3-1 against bottom side Shepton Mallet.

An interception allowed Shepton the opening goal and Wilts keeper Finn Walton was called into action again soon after to prevent them falling further behind.

A ball from the left was expertly deflected by Dave King into the bottom right corner to restore parity before Wilts took control midway through the second half.

Callum Wolff powered the ball under the keeper for Wilts to take a 2-1 lead and added another from close range late on.

  • WEST Wilts Ladies were defeated 3-1 by Frome in their West Clubs League East Division encounter.

Frome opened the scoring but Wilts regrouped and Fi Pridham struck home the equaliser. Frome scored twice in the second half to wrap up victory.

There was better news for the Wilts third team, who thrashed Knowle 2 8-0 in Wessex Division Three.

Melissa Ilic led the scoring with five goals, while Nic Ilic, Nikki Ford and Holly Barry also scored.
