CHIPPENHAM smashed eight goals in each of their weekend matches, starting with the demolition of Bristol UWE A in North Division Two on Saturday.

The hosts opened the scoring when a short corner found Luke Morris waiting at the far post and he skillfully deflected the ball past the advancing goalkeeper.

A second arrived as Andy Edwards smashed the ball into the circle and Harry Elias got a reverse-stick deflection which flew past the goalkeeper.

Early in the second half, Elias cracked home his second of the match and Chippenham’s third when he was allowed to advance unchallenged into the circle.

Morris soon added his second, again from a short corner deflection.

Mike Dodd scored Chippenham’s fifth when his drag flick from a short corner whistled past the goalkeeper and Elias completed his hat-trick before adding his fourth midway through the second half.

Not to be outdone, Morris also completed his hat-trick with another deflected goal from a short corner.

Chippenham also moved through to the next round of the Wiltshire Cup with an 8-1 demolition of Wootton Bassett on Sunday.

An excellent save from stand-in keeper Joel Harding could not prevent Bassett from knocking in the rebound to take the lead.

But the equaliser was not long in coming as Elias fired Chippenham level with a hard hit from a short corner.

Ben Jones put the visitors in front when he found space in the circle and fired the ball low into the near post.

Ben Snell, who was having an impressive game on the left in midfield, had to end his afternoon when the ball was smashed into his ankle.

After the break, Alex Thomas beat a couple of defenders and smashed the ball across the goalkeeper into the far left-hand corner.

Chippenham continued to dominate and Mark Knight scored his first goal of the match from close range.

A dangerous-looking Morris added to his hat-trick of the previous day by netting another two goals from short corners.

Another short corner strike from Elias and Knight scored again.
