LAVINGTON got their season off to a fine start, defeating Semington Magpies at Shaw.
They got off to the perfect start with Myles Hickton scoring after only five minutes, but then had keeper Craig Campbell dismissed on 27 minutes for using abusive language towards the referee.
Jamie Bayes took over between the sticks but Semington stepped up the pressure and two minutes later were on level terms as Matthew Russell scored.
With 30 seconds of the first half remaining Lavington regained the lead as Hickton grabbed his second.
On the hour Lavington made it 3-1 as Ben House netted and Hickton completed his hat-trick two minutes after that.
Hickton scored another to make it 5-1 before battling Semington added a second through Mark James.
Wes Palmer added the sixth in the dying moments.
