Welcome point for struggling Heytesbury

FRESHFORD United missed out on the chance to move into fourth place in Division One when they were held to a 3-3 at lowly placed Heytesbury.

Carl Clarke scored twice for the home side only for Tom Hopkins to bag two in reply to give a half time score of 2-2.

The second half saw Steve Perkins score Heytesbury's third and Dave Birleson hit number three for the visitors.

Division Two

ST ANDREWS grabbed their fifth league win of the season by putting five past The Lamb Inn.

Chris Bentley-Taylor grabbed a brace before an own goal from The Lamb and a Luke Giles strike gave the home side a comfortable half-time leads of 4-0.

Steve Coveney pulled a goal back for The Lamb in the second period only for Ali Brooks to maintain the four-goal advantage and tie up the match.

Division Three

AFTER last week's Spring Cup victory, Bradford Town A maintained their winning streak by taking all three points at struggling Melksham Park.

A Mark McGee brace gave the visitors a deserved two-goal advantage at the break. The second half saw a much-improved home side, with Tom Bull pulling two goals back before Lee Rydell and Russell Francis wrapped up the game for Bradford.

Somerset Junior Cup

FROME Town Sports moved into the quarter-finals of the Somerset Junior Cup after a 3-1 victory over Highbridge Town from the Taunton League.

Andy Moore, Gayle Rowland and Frank Alexander scored for the home side.
