Bratton Reserves 1, Trowbridge Wanderers 7

STRUGGLING Bratton Reserves came a cropper against Trowbridge Wanderers as the visitors ran out 7-1 victors.

A Dave Thomas brace gave Wanderers a great start to the match before Neil Gordon pulled a goal back for Bratton. But by half-time Wanderers were 3-1 up as Tom Bennett scored.

Bromham Reserves 5, Calne Eagles 2

BROMHAM Reserves extended their unbeaten run to six matches by beating local rivals Calne Eagles 5-2 in a competitive and entertaining game.

Despite Bromham starting the game well, it was Calne Eagles who took the lead after 30 minutes when Danny Thompson scored direct from a corner.

Bromham bounced straight back and equalised 10 minutes before the interval when Jim Sandiford headed in at the far post, also from a corner.

In the second half, despite the windy conditions, both teams continued to play good football and it was Bromham who scored next when the impressive Tom Slater got in behind Calne's defence and coolly placed his shot beyond goalkeeper Andy Windsor.

Calne then rallied and had a penalty appeal turned down when Nick Cawley went down in the box and shortly after that Shaun Jefferies was put clean through on goal following a good pass from Darren Axford, but luckily for Bromham, the referee stopped the play to caution Jason Cole for a late tackle on Axford.

Bromham extended their lead when Sam Paget neatly finished off an impressive passing move.

Calne then temporally lost composure and Bromham's clinical all-round play saw them score a further two goals, through Sam Paget and Ben Dawson.

Bromham's Dean Rudman also had a penalty saved by Andy Windsor.

Late in the game, Calne Eagles scored their second goal when free-scoring winger Shaun Jefferies hammered home a shot from close range following good work from Brett Cullen and Nick Cawley.

On the hour mark the match was level again as Ray King tapped in his second of the match from close range.

Jamie Selby grabbed Rowde's winner with three minutes left to play.

Leigh Rowles-Hitchcock made it 2-0 before Richard Radcliffe made it 3-0 just before the break.

The Stiffs then started a mini-revival as Chris Benton pulled a goal back with the second half only a few minutes old. He then scored a second on the hour mark.
