Blue Circle back on winning trail

4:00pm Monday 25th February 2008

Blue Circle returned to winning ways by thumping Freshford United 5-1.

A Darryl Maxwell hat trick in the first half sealed Freshford's fate, but they did manage a goal of their own through Tom Armstrong.

The second period saw a brace from Sean Sheppard round off the scoring for the home side.

AFC Trowbridge Town Youth Reserves 1, The Deverills 1

LOWLY-placed The Deverills fought back from a goal down to take a point from high flying AFC Trowbridge Town Youth Reserves.

The home side had a deserved lead at the midway point thanks to a tap-in from Ross Pike.

The Deverills showed great determination not to lose in the second half and got their just reward when Mike Payne scored midway through the period.

Warminster Town Reserves 0, Steeple Ashton 2

WARMINSTER Town Reserves succumbed to their ninth defeat of the season as in-form Steeple Ashton continued their push towards the summit of the table.

As far as goals were concerned this match was over by half-time as Ashton's two goals came from Guy Rowley and George Mortimer.

The second period saw Warminster's goal under consistent barrage from a determined Ashton strike force, but it held strong to leave the final score at 2-0.
