Seend United celebrate winning the Trowbridge League Division One title for the first time in 52 years (21714/3)
Seend United celebrate winning the Trowbridge League Division One title for the first time in 52 years (21714/3)

Dean Evans scored with the last kick of the match to give Frome Town Sports a 3-2 away win over FC Northbridge.

Chris Fardell got the match of to a superb start for Northbridge by scoring within the first ten minutes, a lead they held at the interval.

With fourth spot still to play for Frome Town Sports stepped up their game in the second period and were on level terms with an own goal.

After being behind, the Somerset side then found themselves in front as Paul Bendall scored to make it 2-1 with 20 minutes left.

But Northbridge failed to lie down and with five minutes left Matthew Rosling scored his first ever goal to level the match once again.

With a point seemingly in the bag Northbridge switched off and with the last kick of the match lost as Evans scored for the visitors to take all the points.

Seend United 3, Steeple Ashton 1

WITH the title already wrapped up, Seend United played hosts to Steeple Ashton, who could still finish second.

With no pressure for a victory, Seend played a few players out of position but were still too strong for Ashton.

Ben Grinham put Seend in front before Guy Rowley equalised for Ashton just before the break.

The second half saw a further two goals for the hosts as regular goalkeeper Tom Drewitt and then Steve Burns scored to complete the 3-1 score-line.
