Harvey impressed by newcomers
Adie Mings
Adie Mings

CHIPPENHAM Town skipper Iain Harvey has been impressed with boss Adie Mings' new signings, midfielder Matt Groves and forward Gary Funnell.

Harvey said: "They both did really well last Saturday. They came in and they slotted straight in.

"Fair play to Adie because he's got two quality players.

"Grovesy is a young lad and he was brilliant on Saturday. Gary will add something we didn't have in the side."

Harvey said the two signings were important because some of the players were starting to tire and suspensions are kicking in.

When asked if fatigue had affected his team recently, Harvey said: "I think it has to be fair.

"We had three games in a week so it was hard, plus we trained. I thought we looked a bit jaded and hopefully they will freshen us up.

"Hopefully we can put in a couple of decent performances.

"Performances have been patchy but one defeat in 12 isn't bad at all. I hope we can keep picking up results."
