Mings upbeat despite heavy defeat
Dave Pratt wins a header

Swindon Town 6, Chippenham Town 1 (Swindon Town win 8-1 on aggregate)

CHIPPENHAM Town were comfortably beaten by Swindon Town in the second leg of the Wiltshire Premier Shield semi-final at the County Ground on Tuesday.

The League One giants easily saw off the Bluebirds 6-1 to clinch an 8-1 aggregate win.

Moses Ashikodi smashed in a hat-trick and Kaid Mohamed, Sofiene Zaaboub and substitute Ben Joyce completed the rout.

Chippenham's David Pratt grabbed himself some glory on 80 minutes when he netted a rare header following Sean Seavill's cross.

But by then Maurice Malpas' side were well in front and the result was not in doubt.

Despite the loss, Chippenham manager Adie Mings was upbeat.

Mings said: "It was an excellent work-out for the players.

"Barring the scoreline it's good to see Swindon field a strong side against us.

"In the past they have managed to send out youth teams but in the two legs they played most of the first team.

"They are obviously pleased to do it against us.

"They were impressed with us in the first leg and they gave my young players who have got aspirations of playing at a higher level, a little test in terms of what they need to achieve."
