WINSLEY slipped to their fourth defeat in a row last weekend as they were hammered by eight wickets at the hands of Devizes.

Charlie Holton’s men batted first but got off to a difficult start as their first five wickets fell for just 36 runs.

Winsley’s Brendan Nasser did his best to steady the ship with his knock of 46 while Jim Gough made 28.

But the Devizes bowlers were on form, with Tom Grant, Jon Couch, Tim Saye, Mark Banham and James Langa all taking two wickets apiece as Holton’s side were skittled for 137 early in the 39th over.

Winsley claimed the wicket of visiting skipper Joe Wookey for just 12 runs, but Devizes’ Saye and Grant hit unbeaten totals of 65 and 56 respectively, both coming from 44 deliveries.
